The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) has announced that actor and television host Mario Lopez will host its 2013 North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) ceremony. Lopez will also receive the 2013 PBA Beautiful Humanitarian Award for his work with a variety of charitable initiatives.

The awards ceremony will take place during PBA Beauty Week, which is hosted by Cosmoprof North America, on July 14, 2013 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. The NAHA 2013 finalists will be released on April 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. EST via facebook.com/pbabeautyweek.

“It is my honor to be able to host the 2013 North American Hairstyling Awards, and I am very humbled to receive the Professional Beauty Association’s Beautiful Humanitarian Award. Beauty professionals help others to look and feel their best, and I applaud their work and talents,” said Lopez.

In addition to hosting the nationally syndicated daily show EXTRA, as well as Fox’s The X Factor, Lopez works to raise awareness and funds for many causes that support the positive and healthy development of children and young adults. He is the Alumni Ambassador of Fitness with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), and as part of the organization’s BE GREAT campaign. He also supports Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Community Youth Athletic Center of Chula Vista, Jameson’s Army, and Padres Contra el Cancer.
